Club nights at the Katipo Cafe (second Wednesdays of the month) normally start with a blackboard concert, where anyone can perform one item. It is an opportunity for less experienced performers to try their hand in a supportive environment, or for old hands to try new material, or whatever. After the blackboard concert there's a singaround or jam session that everyone can join in.
