Monthly concerts and club nights

Acoustic Routes has two regular events each month: a concert and an informal club night.

The monthly concert is held on the fourth Sunday of the month at the Ruby Lounge in Bond Street, central Wellington, starting at 7.30pm. The Concert Venue page has a map of the location.

Each concert features an invited guest performer as the main act, with two or three supporting acts to open the show. The concerts feature a mix of local club members and visiting performers. Door charges vary but are normally $10 for club members and $15 for non-members. Drinks, coffee, snacks and meals are available at the bar.

Club nights are held at the Katipo Cafe, upstairs at 76 Willis Street, on the second Wednesday of the month at 7.30pm. These begin with a blackboard concert where anyone can put their name up for one item, followed by an informal singaround or jam session. Drinks, coffee, snacks and meals are available.

Other events

Once a year we have a musical getaway at Riverslea Lodge, Te Horo, and we occasionally host other concerts or dances. Details of these events will be posted on this website or in The Balladeer.

Acoustic Routes supports the Wellington Folk Festival held every year at Labour weekend. For details about the festival go to www.wellingtonfolkfestival.org.nz.
